Patent-pending saddle pad technology

Custom fit for your horse. Built for a better ride.

North Fit pads are heat-molded to your horse and saddle in about 30 minutes—creating a lightweight, stable fit designed to reduce pressure points, heat buildup, roll and slippage.

The North Fit difference

A pad shaped around the horse—not the other way around.

Traditional pads start flat and remain generic. North Fit uses a specialized heat-molding process to create a permanent contour around your horse’s anatomy and saddle position.

01

Custom pressure distribution

The foam conforms during fitting to accommodate unique back shapes and asymmetry while spreading load across the pad.

02

Stable contact

A molded contour creates consistent contact designed to reduce movement, saddle roll and slippage during demanding work.

03

Cooling spinal channel

A vented center channel relieves direct spinal pressure and allows heat and moisture to move away from the horse’s back.

04

Low-maintenance material

Closed-cell foam resists water and sweat absorption. Rinse or wipe it clean, then store it free from pressure and excess heat.

Material engineering

Permanent form. Minimal bulk. Purpose-built airflow.

North Fit pads use a chemically cross-linked, closed-cell EVA and PE copolymer similar to materials used in custom orthotics. Once fitted, the pad retains its molded form under normal riding conditions.

Heat-moldable structure

Becomes pliable for fitting, then sets into a durable custom shape.

Closed-cell construction

Resists absorbing water, sweat and grime.

Continuous ventilation

The spinal channel promotes airflow along the horse’s back.

Care: Keep the pad below 120°F and store it without weight or pressure on top.

Fitting process

From flat pad to custom fit in four steps.

Bring your horse, the saddle being fitted, rider safety equipment and access to a standard AC outlet.

  1. 01

    Heat the pad

The flat patterned pad is heated until it reaches the correct pliability, typically about 16 minutes after the system is ready.

  2. 02

    Center and tack up

The fitter centers the warm pad beneath the saddle and secures the tack in the horse’s normal riding position.

  3. 03

    Mold under rider pressure

The rider mounts and maintains centered pressure while the pad cools and conforms to the horse and saddle.

  4. 04

    Inspect the finished fit

The fitter checks alignment, contour, spinal clearance and overall form before the pad is released for use.

Practical by design

Lighter to carry. Easier to clean. Ready for work.

The pad weighs approximately 1.6 pounds and does not soak up water like traditional fiber pads. That means less retained weight and a faster reset between rides.
